Description
F4 - Phantom
The definitive combat aircraft of the 60s and 70s the Phantom served in variety of roles for some twelve different air forces. Over 5,000 wer built in several variant types and it was in active service with the US forces as late as the Gulf War - as the Wild Weasel variant. The F4 also served with the RAF and RN having an important role in the Falklands conflict. While brutish in appearance it was much approved by aircrews all over the world who lovingly referred to it as a triumph of thrust over aerodynamics !
Seen here in the livery of the famous Triple Nickel (555 Sqdn) colours during the Vietnam conflict.

Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale of an amazing work!
